There are so many amazing organizations both near and far, which work to address many of the conditions we see every day, as well as to improve the lives of those dealing with these conditions. Here you will find some of the ways we are involved with the community, upcoming events, and other organizations who we appreciate and support! Join our weekly aphasia group
Kidimu toddler playgroup
Our playgroup is on pause over the summer, but will resume again in the Fall!
This group is led by one of our wonderful speech therapists and takes place in the fun, sensory-filled Kids Museum on Bainbridge Island! It gives toddlers of all developmental levels a chance to socialize, engage, and practice their speech and language development. These 60 minute events take place the fourth Wednesday of each month at 3:30PM PST and are fun and information packed, with a new focus each month. We partner with Holly Ridge Center to bring you an array of therapists, professionals, parents, caregivers, and community members who offer up exciting conversation and many gems of knowledge, as well as wonderful resources. The Dayaalu Center is offering two Mindfulness and Movement sessions for kids and teens, beginning July 6th and then August 3rd! Bring a little calm to your child’s summer with these 4-week group sessions.
The Dayaalu Center is also offering ongoing End of Life Planning. These are stand alone sessions, not a series. Contact the center to enroll in this “heart-centered” workshop.
The Reading and Spelling Studio is located on Bainbridge Island. Shelby is a certified Barton Tutor who provides customized, intense private reading and spelling instruction. It is a great resource for children with dyslexia, as well as for slow readers.
