Helping children understand, use, and enjoy language

Some children have difficulty developing language skills across the core areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. These challenges can affect how a child understands spoken language, expresses thoughts and ideas, builds vocabulary, and participates in conversations and learning activities.

When language skills are delayed or disordered, children may struggle with forming sentences, understanding stories, following directions, or using language appropriately in social and academic settings.

How can speech therapy help?

Our speech-language pathologists evaluate each child’s unique language strengths and needs and provide individualized, engaging therapy to:

  • Teach age-appropriate grammar and sentence structure

  • Build vocabulary and understanding of concepts and stories

  • Support social language skills, including conversational turn-taking and appropriate humor

  • Help children use language more effectively at home, at school, and with peers

Our goal is to support confident communication and help each child succeed in everyday interactions.
